16 January 2023: Announcement for app, podcast and Amazon Alexa listeners
We’re pleased to announce that Salvationist Radio will launch at the end of February. Fortress Radio will become Salvationist Radio and its home will be salvationist.org.uk/radio – the digital space for everyone linked to The Salvation Army.
As part of our preparations for launch, we need to redevelop some of the Fortress Radio services.
From 30 January you won’t be able to listen to Fortress Radio via the apps, podcasts or Amazon Alexa devices. We will continue broadcasting Fortress Radio via this website until Salvationist Radio launches, so you can still listen to your favourite Salvation Army music here.
We have been advised that it will take a few weeks for the new apps and Alexa command to be published. Once they are ready, we will be able to confirm the exact launch date, which we expect to be at the end of February.
In the meantime, we apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. Please share this information with friends and family who listen to Fortress Radio.
We’re really excited about this new chapter for the station and we’re preparing some new shows that will join the Sunday schedule alongside familiar programmes presented by existing volunteers.

If you have any questions, please contact us at salvationist@salvationarmy.org.uk.
